CALLAN MARINE HELPS RESTORE BEAUMONT’S RIVERFRONT LANDMARK
After years of closure following Tropical Storm Harvey in 2017, Riverfront Park in downtown Beaumont has officially reopened—welcoming the community back to its scenic boardwalks, pavilions, and river views. Once a popular spot for lunch breaks, fishing, and city celebrations, the park had long been a gathering place for residents. Its return marks a meaningful step forward for the city.
CALLAN MARINE AWARDED DEMOLITION AND ARTIFICIAL REEF PROJECT
Callan Marine is proud to announce our selection by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for the
Old Queen Isabella Causeway Demolition and Artificial Reef Project in Cameron County, Texas. This important initiative not only demonstrates our expertise in marine construction but also reflects our commitment to environmental restoration along the Texas coast.
The project centers on the demolition of the Old Queen Isabella Causeway in the Lower Laguna Madre near Port Isabel. Our team is responsible for the safe removal of concrete pile caps, pilings, railings, deck spans, and subsurface debris, followed by careful sediment screening and backfilling. Salvaged concrete materials will then be transported and placed offshore—approximately 10.1 miles from the Brownsville Ship Channel entrance jetties at South Padre Island—where they will form the foundation of a new, engineered artificial reef.
CALLAN SUPPORTS PORT OF GALVESTON 200TH ANNIVERSARY
The Galveston Wharves is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year with a series of major events in October, all hosted by the port and made possible by the support of 34 bicentennial sponsors. Presenting sponsors include Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean (part of Royal Caribbean Group), and Callan Marine.
The celebration weekend kicks off Friday, October 17, with a free Party on the Pier at Pier 21, presented by Royal Caribbean. The festivities continue Saturday, October 18, with the 200th Anniversary Gala at the Galveston Island Convention Center, presented by Carnival Cruise Line, with entertainment sponsored by Callan Marine.
